John Turner Collection
The John Turner Slide Collection forms part of the Research Papers of Associate Professor John Turner. The papers were deposited in September 1998 and accessioned in November 2007 thanks to the generosity of the Vera Deacon Regional History Fund. A further consignment of slides relating to archaeological investigations and heritage recording were also deposited by Dr Damaris Bairstow in 2004
Images in this collection are of Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter Valley, early colonial Australia and the South Pacific regions.
The images here were scanned from positive slides held by Cultural Collections at the University of Newcastle Library, Australia.

These photographs, like many of the thousands of photos on our site, were scanned by a volunteer. When we have sufficient funds in the Vera Deacon Regional History Fund, we are able to give these wonderful people some paid employment. If you would care to make a small donation to this fund, please see http://libguides.newcastle.edu.au/benefactors/new for more information and a link to the donation form.
