Newcastle Fire Command Headquarters were located nearby at the Shepherds Hill complex. These officers were photographed outside of the officers mess after dinner.
Handwriting on the photograph - "We had dinner in this officers mess, lived nearby on Shepherds Hill. Lunch down at [...] house [...]". Both women in the photograph are also named: Sergeant Mary Verco and Sergeant 'Bill' Leach.
