DescriptionThis photograph was taken of the north tower at Mine Camp, north of Catherine Hill Bay, NSW. Mine Camp was established in 1943 by the RAAF (Royal Australian Air Force) to operate as a radar station; the two receiving towers provided intelligence for the RAAF Base at Rathmines and the Fortress Newcastle defence network.
