UON Library, University of Newcastle, Australia: ASGN0820-B37 - Locomotive sheds, Hamilton, N.S.W. Again, this is another photo with an N-67 class locomotive in it, at a time when the Hamilton Depot was still very new. In this case, the locomotive is in its original configuration without the crane being fitted at this stage. The locomotive, No. 70, was built by Mort & Company in Sydney, their builders number 18, entering service on the NSW Railways in July 1875. It had three numbers in its career, starting with 70, then LO17 and finally 1028. In September 1912, this locomotive was also fitted with a coal grab similar to the ones in other photos. The locomotive was condemned on 21-Oct-1937 and scrapped on 3-Dec-1937. It is interesting to point out that the caption that this photo had in the display in the university gallery had this locomotive class shown incorrectly, so maybe this information can assist in having a correct caption in the future.
