Margaret Senior (1917 - 1995) was a celebrated natural history and children's book illustrator. Born in London, she migrated to Australia in the 1940s. Her most notable works were for the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service including fire prevention posters. She was also well known for her work illustrating diseases of plants. She illustrated many children's books in the 1950s and 60s including Eve Pownall's Australia Book (1952). Special Collections was awarded a federal Community Heritage Grant to fund a Significance Assessment and digitization of this collection. See our blog for more details.
