AddBy: Robert Brown13th Aug 2022 6:37PMDombarton. Site of unusual crossing loop, a considerable part of which can be seen; ascending trains proceeded almost straight ahead into part of the loop which is hidden by the CPH’s radiator, then reversed back under the main line via a bridge, the through girders of which can be seen above and to the right of the railmotor, up the bank to the immediate left of the two gents wearing dark clothing and out to the right. When given the road the train would proceed up the main line over the bridge being given a help by the descending siding, which also acted as a runaway for descending trains. Date is suggested as late 40s to 50s due to presumably green and cream CPH livery and number of people wearing light coloured suits, which it is thought was not common prior to WW11
