Plan shewing the extent to which the low lands of the River Hunter, and its tributaries between Oakhampton and Hexham were submerged by the Great Flood of August 1857.
Note
The approximate difference of level between A and B in the flood of July was 12½ feet. In that of August about 10½ feet.
The difference of level between C and D in flood of August was 6 feet.
