<p>The suspected location is taken from the return address on the negative sleeve.</p> <p>Ames is just north of Des Moines, and one of the CRI&P's major routes was Minneapolis to Kansas City via Des Moines. Ames would therefore be a natural place to see and photograph CRI&P locomotives.</p> <p>This image was scanned from an original glass plate or negative, kindly provided by the Australian Railway Historical Society, New South Wales Division.</p> <p>If you have any further information about the image, please <a href="mailto:archives@newcastle.edu.au">contact us</a>.</p>
