As an executive member of the Douglas Shire Historical Society (NQ) Inc. I would like to comment on the image mentioned above.
This item of rolling stock is the parcel carriage from the Douglas Divisional Board's (later Douglas Shire Council) Port Douglas to Mossman Tramway which was opened for traffic on 1st August 1900 (more fully described by C. McColvin of Mossman). It has been preserved and is static display, together with the Board's first 1900 Fowler loco "Faugh-a-Ballagh" (number 8733) and wood tender.
