AddBy: Dr David Cameron8th Sep 2021 10:36AMThis image appears to be of either HMAS Australia (II) or HMAS Canberra (I) probably berthed at Garden Island in Sydney. I suspect this one is HMAS Canberra sister ship to HMAS Australia, they were both 10,000 ton Kent sub-class County Class Heavy Cruisers ordered by the Australian Government as part of a five year naval development program begun in 1924 and completed in 1929. If it is the Canberra this photo would date prior to August 1942 when the Canberra was lost after the Battle of Savo Island, Guadalcanal, 9 August 1942. Dr David Cameron
