Photograph taken during the construction of a road, from Link Battery (Stockton) to the armour-proof range at Fern Bay. Notes recorded with the photograph describe the process: "Began 8am on Saturday, worked thru til 3pm Sunday and gravelled and tarred. Within 48hrs, 2 semi-trailers with 16 ton tanks on each were driven over road to the Range.' Man in photograph is not named.
