This printed poster is advertising a performance of Romeo and Juliet by the University of Newcastle Drama Department, directed by David Berthold. Berthold was a drama student at the University of Newcastle before going on to direct many Australian theatre companies, eventually becoming the Director in Residence at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA).

InformationThis poster is part of the University of Newcastle collection of posters (1970-1990) that were collected over the decades and housed in Special Collections. This poster collection reflects the history of Callaghan campus, and are a testament to the enduring spirit of student protest and social change and movements.
