The Hunter Valley Conservation Trust was originally established under the Hunter Valley Conservation Act No. 34 1950, (NSW) for the purpose of preservation of natural resources, and flood mitigation and management. The Trust has been replaced by Hunter - Local Land Services, which provides a similar service
