The Gordons of Merewether is an amalgamation of biographical writing and photographs. Barry Gordon had nurtured the idea of writing a family history, and had made pleasing progress with his project over the summer of 1993-94. At his untimely death in March 1994, drafts of fourteen chapters, covering the period from 1956 to 1981, had been completed. His wife, Moira has continued the editorial tasks by sourcing and adding supporting images and completing the vision of a biography of the family which was published in July 2025. 

Given the strong academic connections with the University of Newcastle from its College days, the Gordon Family (through son, Hugh Gordon) has kindly granted us permission to have a digital copy of the family biography on the University Library's Living Histories Platform.
