School of Architecture Callaghan Campus
The University of Newcastle (UON) Library, academics and former staff and students of architecture are undertaking a collaborative project to document and create an online resource detailing the history of the university's School of Architecture.
This online collection is a resource to support researchers and make visible the archives and history so that these sources are accessible to students, staff, and the public. The creation of this online resource coincides with the UON's 60th anniversary enriches knowledge of education at the school of architecture. The online resource highlights the profile of the UON architecture school, its unique connection to prominent and highly regards Australian architects and teaching academics, and provide valuable material documenting the legacy of those who have come before.
The collection has sources that document the beginnings of a School of Architecture in Newcastle, and to the influential Professors of Practice program during the 1990s and 2000s, which saw renowned architects teaching and contributing to the university.
