It was designed and constructed for Bill Pallet of Pallet Homes, a Newcastle construction company. Architect was Ross Deamer of Thelander, Deamer, McKenzie, and Hilliard architects, Church Street, Newcastle, NSW. The home remains today, now painted. It is on the corner of Woodward Street and Scenic Highway, Merewether Heights.  It is arguably one of Newcastle's finest residential buildings, the design influenced by the American architect Richard Neutra.
