AddBy: Robert Brown20th Jul 2022 2:42PMThis is during strengthening in 1920s, not construction. It appears that floor strengthening has been completed (top flange of cross girders is about sleeper base, whereas originally the top flange was close to top of sleeper - addition of a column section to top of stringers lifted the rail and sleepers). Truss strengthening in the centre panels has not yet been undertaken nor has addition of upper transverse members. It appears that the work being undertaken is welding lacing in the posts to the main vertical members in the posts. Various other photos show welding having been performed on lacing.
