I have just looked at the photo of Mayfield shopping centre which is dominated in part with a double decker bus. It is noted as 1960's circa. It is most definitely mid 50's given the cars in the photo. Had it been 1960's, the photo would have been full of Holden; FB, EK, EJ and possibly EH.

All the cars parked are early 50's, not even an a 48/215 or FJ Holden is visible.

If I was to be really pickie, I���d suggest 1956 or 1957 as the years most likely due to the latest model cars in the photo. There certainly is nothing to suggest any later than that.

This image was scanned from a photograph in the Newcastle and Hunter District Historical Society archives which are held by Special Collections in the University of Newcastle Library, Australia.
