I own one of the houses in the bottom right of the photo, but not at the time the photo was taken. I have some plans for the house that are dated August 1963, and I believe the house was constructed soon after this. In this image, the houses seem to be recently constructed as there is no landscaping, trees, gardens. So I would suggest that this photo dates from around 1965. UON Library,University of Newcastle, Australia: Thanks, Lachlan. lachlan_wetherall: On further investigation, the pages at www.newcastle.edu.au/about-uon/our-university/celebrate-5... indicate that the Shortland Union was constructed in 1967 and the Great Hall commenced construction in 1971. That dates this photo in the period 1967 - 1971. It seems home owners in the 1960s weren't that keen on trees and gardens!
