Flickr Commentquasymody: I gather this might have been a World War I patriotic or recruiting parade. The placard to the lhs says 'Will They Never Come'...which became a common recruiting catch phrase during the war...it appears to have gained currency in Australia by mid-later 1915, when the reality of the war started to hit home and the number of men volunteering for military service began to decline...which suggests that this pic might have been taken from about mid 1915 or later. 'Will They Never Come?' was also the title of a 1915 Alfred Rolfe recruiting film en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Will_They_Never_Come%3F www.awm.gov.au/collection/ARTV07583/ 'Will They Never Come?' poster
