Flickr Commentray.christison: This photograph was taken from the verandah of the Commercial Hotel looking west. It shows the intersection of Main Street and Lithgow Street. The park behind the buildings is Lithgow Park (now Queen Elizabeth Park). The Charles Lewins Memorial Bandstand is located in the park. The houses beyond the park are in Hassans Walls Road and represent the earliest development within the Extension Estate which occurred from 1908.
