Text from The Gazette: "In July [1976], University Rugby Club celebrated its first 21 years at a dinner in Edwards Hall attended by more than 200 guests. The actual anniversary was I975, but the celebration was deferred until the Club completed an official history.  Copies of the book were presented to guests at the dinner."

"Above. The Vice-Chancellor made a presentation to Mr Brian O'Shea in recognition of his services to the Club as life member, prop, goal-kicker and Captain."

David Porter commented: "Boxhead" O'Shea remains an icon of the University Rugby Club as player, coach and administrator. He was also involved at NSW Country, State and National level as a coach.

Information provided by Adrian Iakin: "Brian O’Shea (Commerce Dept) was the President of the Blues Association at the time and depending on the date of the function may also have been the President of the Sports Union (President from 1974 – 1978)."
