mgafox: I don't know how rough this pub was but the guy in front of the door is proudly brandishing a gun!!

hedfram2: An interesting companion to that of "John Sample's Commercial Hotel, 1893". According to hotel licence records George Smith did not acquire the licence of this hotel until 31 Oct. 1901 and held it until succeeded by Thomas J. Byrne from 31 Oct. 1913.
