By: Richard Ollerton23rd Jul 2024 5:28PMThe photos from Snowball glass plates Box 114 1908 have been tentatively dated elsewhere (see hunterlivinghistories.com/2023/11/14/ralph-snowball-archive/) to February of that year, presumably because of the Newcastle Show label. Although the Show that year was due to be held in February, it was postponed due to rain before the exhibitors arrived. It then ran from 12-14 March but was again postponed due to rain with the remaining ring events completed 8-9 May. Therefore, the photos from this box most likely date from 12-14 March 1908 (and definitely not February). They may be viewed on the Newcastle Libraries Hunter Photobank website.
