sunnylew75: Our family still holds an original print of this photograph. It was placed onto a new backing in the 60's, and so the inscription can no longer be seen, but it was transcribed at the time as follows: Standing - L-R: [Noble]; Middlemiss; Henry Burg; Ward; Johnson; Seated - L-R: Joseph Palmer; Colman; Wm. Conn.

Lachlan Wetherall: Lambton Council consisted of only 9 aldermen, so I presume that the 10 men in the photo are the 9 aldermen (William Conn, Henry Burg, John Middlemas, Joseph Palmer, Absolom Coleman, George E. Hardy, Richard Ward, Ralph Watson, George Noble) plus the town clerk (Thomas Johnson).
