AddBy: Cat27th Jul 2024 9:05AMThe first meeting leading to the establishment of rugby league in Newcastle took place at this site on February 8, 1908, in the restaurant and refreshment rooms of James H. Pike. By mid-April, a group of rebel footballers had formed a Newcastle league team to join the first NSWRL premiership competition.
