InformationRaspberry Gully was also known as South Waratah Colliery, the Gully pit and Charles' Pit. The Waratah Coal Mining Company originally sunk the shaft, then known as Charles pit and worked it for six year, before sinking a deeper shaft called South Waratah. The mine closed for the final time 22 December 1961. Image shows the the 22 topmen of the Raspberry Gully Pit, now Charlestown. MinersDate24th June 1898
