InformationThe site of this building is now occupied by Lambton Fridge at Number 86 Elder Street Lambton and Global Property Real Estate at Number 84 Elder Street Lambton (1.12.2009). This building was previously occupied by W Conn - produce merchant and general grocer and Temperance and public lecture hall. In 1908 part of the building was used as a hairdresser and tobacconist by R Gibbs. Last edited by: Anne Kay

Lachlan Wetherall commented: The photograph may be from 14th April 1902, when a procession and banquet was held to welcome home Lieutenant McEwan from the Boer War. See

If you follow the line of the horse's mane up, you can see a small bunting flag which is a Union Jack with two ovals. These are probably King Edward VII and Queen Alexandria. The flag also has 6 stars, representing the Australian States. The Coronation was on 26th June, 1902, and Snowball has marked this "14th April", so this flag might be bunting left over and used a second time.
