Born in 1943, Roger S Holmes has served as Vice Chancellor of various departments at Griffith University (1996-2004) and University of Newcastle (2004). He received his degree in Science and two doctorates from Griffith University where he was also Emeritus Professor and served as this at the University of Newcastle.
Over 149 papers by Holmes have been published into his research of gene families and isozymes, particularly the enzymes of alcohol and aldehyde metabolism, lipid metabolism and associated gene families in people.
Holmes now works as research consultant at Texas Biomedical Research in San Antonio, Texas.
