Label reads: "Winemakers selection. Vintage 1978 vat 9. Tyrrell's Hunter River Dry Red. Estate bottled. Tyrrell's Vineyards PTY LTD., Pokolbin N.S.W. Produce of Australia. Murray D. Tyrrell Winemaker. This wine was made from Hermitage grapes picked mid to late vintage from out four and eight acre vineyards. The fruit was in perfect condition with some dehydration of the berries which gave concentration of fruit, acid and sugar. The wine was matured for two months in small new Oak and then transferred to old five gallon French Oak casks until bottling. It is a full bodied style showing deep fruit flavour, firm tannin finished and distinctive earthy Hunter character. I believe this to be a typical old style Hunter Red. 370ml. ."
