Label reads: "First planted in the 1880's be Henri Jean De Beyer (b. 1845 in Alsace), De Beyer's Vineyard was re-established in 1967 by Frank Margan, Donald Margan, Donald McMichael and Douglas MacGregor. Hermitage, Semillon and a small amount of Chardonnay have been planted over some 30 acres. The first wine, De Beyere's Semillon was vintaged in 1971, and immediately won a Commended Award in the Restricted Class Hock Any Vintage in the 1971 Championship Wine Show of the Royal Agricultural Society of New South Wales. Because of the size of the vineyard, only limited amounts of De Beyer's Hermitage can be made available for trade."
