Label reads: "The 1975 Vintage in the Hunter Valley has been an exceptional one. The white wines are a lighter more delicate style, displaying strenght of flavour and finesse similar to the 1972 Vintage. The Hunter Valley experienced extremely hot dry conditions during the ripening period and this, coupled with vigorous growth in early Spring produced fruit of the highest quality. The grapes for this wine were picked early in Vintage from the old vines on our Short Flat vineyard. The juice was fermented cold and under slight pressure in old German Oak casks which enabled us to preserve the rich fruit flavour and delicate green/gold colour characteristic of the Semillon grape. This wine is showing strong variety flavour, a full acid palate and soft finish. I believe this to be the top White wine of the vintage and like all great Hunters it will improve greatly with bottle ageing. Murray D Tyrrell Winemaker."
