Pokolbin N.S.W. - Produce of Australia Murray D Tyrrell Winemaker D2404 The Red wines produced in 1974 are typical of those from wet cloudy years which are sometimes experienced in the Hunter. The wines generally have a more intense fruit character and are lighterin body than those of hot years. Our oldest vines from the red clay soil of our eight acre vineyard were picked during early vintage to make this wine. It shows good red, purple colour, strong fruit flavour and a firm slightly astringent finish. I believe this will develop into a true Hunter style and will continue to improve after 3-4 years bottle ageing. 738ml."
