SummaryInterview by Glenda Aoake in 1989 with Charles Lewis about his memories of working in the Hunter Valley Timber Industry during the 1920s and 1930s. Charles was 13 when he started work in the timber industry, he was an axeman and teamster at Viney Creek, Tea Gardens. During his career Charles' worked at Tea Gardens Mill, Mills and Rigby, J. Almsley at Redhead, Crolls at Dungog, Pent and Fosters at Maitland.
