Toorumbee Creek is located in the Macleay Valley on the mid-north coast of NSW. Their aim was to "settle the country and develop a self sufficient life-style based on appropriate, mainly soft technology".
John first become interested in Toorumbee Creek in 1977 when he met John Burne and Chris Davis who had the idea of setting up an alternate lifestyle community. The attraction was to get away to the pristine isolated environment, to the tranquility, an escape from technology and industry.
