SummaryInterview by Gwyneth Robertson in 1987 with Marie Maddrell former employee of Winns, speaking about the history of Winns Ltd 1878-1980. Marie started at Winns Department store on 24 May 1946 and was second in charge of the haberdashery department. She talks about Keith Winn as a wise and clever business person, "were a fantastic family to work for". Had a female boss 'Beryl' who was very supportive, they were buyers for Winns and would travel to Sydney every week, also worked well with the buyers from other Newcastle stores.
