SummaryInterview by Leonie Milgate in 1988 with Twink Edwina Story (nee Ford) about her career as a female radio personality in Newcastle. Twink Story was program director and on-air personality at 2HD Radio station at Sandgate, in Newcastle, in 1945 the station was under the management of Twink's husband Jim Storey who remained in this role for 29 years.Twink was born in Newcastle, she attended various schools and left after attaining her Intermediate certificate to teach music privately. She recalls fondly her first music teacher Miss Braggett, her parents also encouraged her love of music, later when she married Jim he too was a terrific "guide and mentor". Jim Story was the manager at 2HD Radio and helped Twink attain her dream of working in radio, she took to radio "like a duck to water". Twink was awarded Order of Australia Medal for her service to the community and in 1987 received an award for outstanding citizen of Maitland.
