Hunter Girls' High School was formally known as Domestic Science School in the 1930s. Lottie describes that area the school was built as being "a big swamp". She was appointed to the school in 1946 when if became a high school, it was also at this time that graduate teachers came to the school.
Aileen Treglown was Principal and taught business principles and typing, commerce and geography, she also assisted the girls in their fourth year gain employment.
Lottie describes differences between Hunter Girls' High School and other schools for girls, such as Newcastle Girls' High and the difference subjects that were taught.
