By: Michael17th Apr 2022 4:39PMDundas Station was extended in 1958 to cater for electric trains. Up to that time two types of train were used on the Carlimgford Line. In the early morning and late afternoon steam trains were employed to convey workers to the city. Throughout the rest of the day a small diesel powered single carriage train ran in both directions. The men's lavatory had urinals coated in tar and no roof. My friend and I used to climb onto the roof of the deserted station. On the day the electric train service was introduced we begged the guard to allow us to take a free ride to Carlingford but he demurred.
