Re Reg Payne
The StoryReg Payne was my uncle by marriage, his wife Louise Sylvester my fathers Sister..While Louise did come from Martinsville she lived her early childhood in the upper reaches of Stockyard Creek, Paynes Crossing..Her father Thomas John Sylvester moved to Martinsville circa 1913 to join four other siblings..Thomas married Evelyn Burgess the daughter of Charles Burgess [convict], and Jane Brien of Paynes Crossing in 1906..Thomas and Evelyn moved their family of four girls and a boy from Stockyard Creek to Martinsville by Bullock Wagon across the Wattagan Mountain...Another two children both boys, were born to Thomas & Evelyn, one of which was my father Harry..Thomas Sylvester [snr], my Grt. grandfather was raised at Stockyard Creek as a child, his mother Harriet moved there circa 1855 taking up portions 6 & 7 [Parish Maps, parish of Yango]..
