By: Robert Brown10th Aug 2022 11:49AMNorth Strathfield. Purpose of loco movement can only be speculated on, however a possibility is moving locomotives to North Sydney for load testing of harbour bridge. Locos are a 50 (or 53) in steam, saturated 50 -no tender- with con rods on running board and (probably big ends strapped in place), 25 with no tender, 53 (or 50) with no tender (cannot ascertain if saturated), probably another 25 with no tender and a 50 or 53 with tender. The last does not appear to be in steam. Many saturated 50 and 53 were condemned during depression, and a number used for load testing harbour bridge. It is presumed that the 4 locomotives without tenders have been condemned, and the reason for moving them can only be speculated, unless Cardiff was to be scrapping site
