AddBy: David Batho27th Apr 2025 4:53PMThe locomotive is either loading or unloading railway rolling stock from the train ferry 'Swallow' at South grafton. This was how trains 'bridged' the Clarence River until the opening of the road-rail bridge in (I think) 1932. The hull of the smaller ferry remains on the (south?) bank of the Clarence River near the site of the bridge.
