An artwork by Newcastle artist and historian Terry Callen, depicting the rescue of the crew of the 'Alpena', when it was caught in a gale in Newcastle Harbour in 1909. During the 15-hour rescue operation, despite the crew of the lifeboat being washed overboard (As depicted in this artwork), all of the Alpena's crew were safely evacuated.
