These images were scanned from items in the personal papers of Lieutenant Colonel Brent B. Rodd of Newcastle, NSW, Australia, held by Special Collections at the University of Newcastle Library, NSW, Australia. They are from a collection by Lt. Col. Rodd, who served as a Major in the A.I.F. during World War I. He served with distinction, being wounded at the Battle of Villers-Bretonneux in 1918. His efforts are mentioned in Bean's official history of World War 1.
