Tape quality very low, tape gets quieter as recording goes on. In this Tape they reminisce about people in the area.

The Noonans used to keep Aberdare Hotel and the Whites.

They stayed at the North Cumberland Hotel when they first came to town, then they rented a house on Congewai Street, then bought a house on Aberdare Rd.

A man named Moore bought it from them.

The publican of the North Cumberland Hotel when they first came to town was Wiggleman. Also LeVette?

Other contemporary hotels: The Hamptons Hotel, The Railway Hotel

Tom Gillmore, Murphy’s, Mrs. Murphy was a Kennedy, the Kennedy family in the fruit business Alphonsus Kennedy, Nick Kennedy, Mrs. Golman

Taxi drivers – Kennedy, Waylan

Jimmy Casly from Aberdare, used to be ‘sweet’ on Mrs. Howard’s sister and leave notes in the horse trough

Miss Lovett married a Corbett?

Lewis girl married Sam Whitworth, Phil Whitworth

Mr and Mrs Bill Dowson lived near the Lewis’
