Bridget Unwin née Laffey (1878-1978), Anne O'Connor (-1979). Recorded 12 September 1977. Part 1/1.
There are two parts to this interview. Firstly there is a small interview with Mrs Bridget Unwin (nee Laffey). She was born in 1878 in Ireland, emigrating to Australia and settling in Cessnock during WWI. In the interview she recalls buying her first home.
The second part features an interview with Ms Anne O'Connor whose family settled in Cessnock in 1865. She is the daughter of Patrick O'Connor and Anne Love. She also has five brothers and sisters. In the interview Ms O'Connor recalls the early residents of Pokolbin and attending the local St Patrick's convent school.
