1910 - the old Cessnock Hotel. Mr Kay had his vaudeville show in this area. They used to pitch their tents where the old Express office was.

Recollection of bag town, Kurri. Sam's family lived in a bag house for a couple of years. Ernie Palmer was the builder and Bonds (Jack Bond's father) was the painter and saddler. Jordon Bond was a draper who went to Sydney where he ended his life. His sister came from Murrurundi and took over the drapery shop. His wife died in 1973.
