Looking at family line, Edward Roberts born in 1853, John Roberts born 1854, James Roberts born 1856, George Steven Roberts born 1858, Mary Anne Roberts born 1860, William Roberts born 21st of March 1862, Maria Roberts born January 1864, Eliza Roberts born 1869, Ada Roberts born 1871, Robert Roberts born 1874, and Joseph Henry Roberts (Eric’s father) born 1876.

Mary Anne Roberts married Henry George Roser, Eliza Anne Roberts married Ernest Andrews. John Roberts married Margaret “Mary” Walker, R.H. Roberts married Jane Fletcher, Ada Roberts married Robert Cross, Maria Roberts married Patrick Readon.

Eric started on Singleton. Uncle Jim was born in 1856, there was a big flood in 1862, and one of the Payne’s swam from one side of the Stockyard creek into the top window of the Payne house. Granny had a Hawkins girl working for her. Reg Payne told him that Neddy Payne had taken up a thousand acres. And the Hawkins girl told Granny she would sell her the place, and that was the first land Grandfather bought, a hundred acre block. Talk of the school moving. The buying of land.
